Corn in the Hole – A Cornhole Game

With the name “Corn in the Hole” or the official eponymous “Corn Hole” alone, the game of corn toss has grown into a phenomenon. This unique and popular outdoor game is sweeping the country, and I mean by storm. The sweeping activity surrounding the game can be seen in every conceivable place.
Cornhole, as the name implies, is a bag filled with corn that is thrown in a hole on a flat surface, hence the virtual meaning of the name; cornhole. Now, some people would be surprised if they heard that name for the first time. We won’t go there, but it certainly tends to lean towards shady ideas. Cornhole is probably the most addictive game in a long time. One only has to watch a few minutes and if you have a competitive bone in your body, you’ll want to play Cornhole yourself.
The similarities between Cornhole and Horseshoe are very close in the concept of the game. Players throw a bag at a target and accumulate points based on where the thrown object lands relative to the target. But the expansion possibilities of Cornhole are far more versatile than any horseshoe game.
Cornhole can be set up and played in a variety of environments as long as there is enough available space. You can play in a parking lot during a tailgate party, you can put it in a driveway, playground, or backyard, and you can even play indoors if the building is large enough to accommodate a toss gap. These game boards are available on college campuses across the country.
The fact that the tosses are bean bags filled with corn makes the location of use very acceptable, as flying bean bags cause little to no harm.
A bean bag toss game with another name may never be as successful as this one, and there is a story embedded in it. Cliché; I’d say what’s in the name fits perfectly here.
